Q. What should be included in Scissor Lift or Aerial Boom training?
A. Scissor lift training shall include, at minimum, the following topics:

• Operating instructions, warnings, and precautions for the types of scissor lift the operator will be authorized to operate;
• Location of the scissor lift controls, warning labels and instrumentation; what they do, and how they work;
• Vehicle capacity.
• Vehicle stability.
• Vehicle inspection.
• Recharging of batteries.
• Operating limitations.
• Any vehicle inspection and maintenance that the operator will be required to perform.
• Other.

All operators of any elevating platform must also be trained in the appropriate fall arrest requirements. This includes proper fitting, use, and maintenance of fall protection/arrest equipment applicable to the types of aerial platforms in use.

Any other operating instructions, warnings, or precautions listed in the operator’s manual for the types of vehicle that the employee is being trained to operate.
Surface conditions where the vehicle will be operated;
Pedestrian traffic in areas where the vehicle will be operated;
