Q. When does an employee need to use fall protection?

A. Fall protection Must be used where a worker may be exposed to falling:

• More than 3 meters (10 feet).
• More than 1.2 meters (4 feet) if a work area is used as a path for wheelbarrows.
• Into operating machinery regardless of the height.
• Into water or other liquids.
• Into hazardous substance or object.
• Through an opening in a work surface.
