Q. Is it mandatory to wear safety shoes while operating a power jack?

A. Here is an excerpt from a Ministry of Labour inspection performed at one of our customer’s locations;
“Steel toe shoes are required by workers when using material handling equipment (power and manual) or when working in the shipping/receiving area. Toe caps are not to be used on a regular basis-toes caps do not comply with CSA or ANSI Standards and are not recommended.
Further, the Occupational Health and Safety Act for Industrial Establishments Section 28(1)(b) A worker shall use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn
Section 82
A worker exposed to the hazard of foot injury shall wear foot protection appropriate to the circumstances
